Interesting that our waitress has been so championed as it was her that put the wrong menus out to start with. She came back with an order for pate and assuming that the customer had been given the correct menu an order of chicken liver pate was sent to the table, all of which was eaten and the complaint of the wrong order made after the event. If the customer had complained at the time of recieving the order we could have dealt with it straight away, but to be presented with a "licked clean" plate and having apologised and asked if the cutomer wanted it removed from the bill, I think we had done as much as we could do as the dish was very obviously enjoyed. As for the sweeping statement that we can't eat out much, we manage quite well considering we work 6 fourteen hour days a week with only one day off. We certainly eat out enough to realise that if we were vegetarians we probably wouldn't order smoked mackerel pate in the first place.

La Gigo GI, Brighton

Not so sure about the above coment, mabe written by the owners. Was unfortunate enough to use this place when I was in Brighton Easter weekend. Very small with most seating outside which isnt very handy when the wind whistles down the street you are sitting on. Coffee tasted and resembled a cup of soil and the supposedly hot pannini was cold. Non of this was a match for our waitress who was dressed as a brightly coloured tart is the only was I can describe it and stunk of booze (wasnt too sure whether she was sober! or if not 'on something') and looked like she hadnt washed for a week. All I can finish by saying is later in the day popped into Carluchios opposite and Brighton reedeemed itself.

Taylor st Baristas, Brighton

The best coffee in the whole of Brighton & Hove.

Choccywoccydoodah, Brighton

Great place to indulge, staff super friendly. We were put at ease straight away. We had the best hot choclate i have ever had in my whole entire life. Not the biggest place in the world, and it gets really busy on a saturday, but if you are patient, it is well worth the wait. They also offer take away but it was raining real bad that day so we thought we stick to our original plan and wait for a table. It is now a absolute must everytime i visit Brighton!

Pompoko, Brighton

Excellent, tasty, served quickly, ridiculously cheap, i love it, mind you its not a place for a long stay or romantic meal, but perfect for a quick lunch or meal in the evening. This evening 2 people having 2 courses came to £13.50, left a £2 tip also.........make sure you try it :)

Home Brighton, Brighton

This place used to have a really friendly atmosphere, but recently it seems to have mislaid what we used to love. Agreeable decor, fresh flowers on the wooden tables.
Currently festooned with tasteful, white fairy lights.
Lunch menu seems to cater for most appetites/pockets. In addition to the usual starters & mains there is an interesting range of sandwiches, paninis, jackets & cakes at reasonable prices. We took advantage of the current '2 mains for £9' from a selection including, beer battered fish & chips, a pasta dish, lamb & mint pie, ham, egg & chips etc.
The wine list is quite acceptable & service came with a smile.
Booking advisable as quite small.

Bills Produce Store, Brighton

You definitely have to experience it but it does get madly crowded.
